This how-to guide is for new Skipsters who want to learn how to use Skip and make the most of Skip’s awesome features.
Skip is intuitive by design so you can probably work it out on your own but this in-depth get started guide will help you quickly become a Skip master.  If you have any unanswered questions after this guide, shout out and our Australian-based support team will help you.

Get Started Now. Download Skip.

STEP 1—DOWNLOAD SKIP TO UPLOAD FOOD + COFFEE

To start using Skip download the app. Or don’t because you can also open your favourite web browser (provided it isn’t Internet Explorer because that barely counts as a thing), and use Skip at www.skipapp.com.au.

STEP 2—SETUP YOUR ACCOUNT

Next you need to set up your Skip account. This should take you less than a minute, but if you’re distracted easily, or you enjoy taking breaks, it may take longer. Drop in your details now and skip to the next step. Please note, you’ll fill out payment details when you place your first order. You only need to do this once. Exciting, huh?

STEP 3—SEARCH & SELECT YOUR NEAREST VENUE

You’re ready to order. You can do it. Use the force…of your finger on the screen. Tap SEE NEARBY VENUE for a list of your nearby-est venues and get ordering! You can also search for a specific venue using the search bar.
Not sure what you want to eat? No worries, mate. Let your stomach decide! Tap EAT SOMETHING and you can let your stomach do the browsing as you peruse food categories like: soup, healthy, noodles, liquid lunch, et cetera. Tap on your stomach’s choice and you can see the nearest venue serving up the goods you most desire.

STEP 4—SELECT + CUSTOMISE YOUR COFFEE

Order whatever you want, you’ve earned it. Go on, treat yourself—there’s no judgment here, only queuelessness. If you take your strong decaf almond mylk latte with 3 equal, order when ready! If you want your toasted Rueben sandwich without mustard, just use the comments section to say as much. You can fully customise your drink and food orders (obviously some venues may have restrictions on changes to food; E.g. Tabouleh without the parsley; rice-free risotto; fructose-free fruit salad can’t exist), but most are very accommodating especially when it comes to allergies and intolerances.
DISCOVER COMBO DEALS Did you know some venues offer combo deals? Order your coffee first, and once you’ve confirmed your order, you will discover if that venue offers any combo deals. Then just tap on the try a combo button and save!

STEP 5—MASTER TIME

Are you ready to master time? Simply set your pickup time and don’t let the power go to your head. Choose a suitable pick up time and remember to give yourself some wriggle room on your first go. Not sure how far away you are from the café? Guess, or use Google maps to give you an estimate. The minimum pick up time varies between the venues—you can check on the venue’s Skip profile, but it will usually be 3-5 minutes.

STEP 6—CONFIRM & PAY

Paying for anything in person is so Y2K. Once you've confirmed your first order, you'll be prompted to enter your card details (just once), then the cash-handling is forever taken out of your interaction with your barista. You only need to enter your payment details once—it is then securely stored by our payment provider.

BONUS: IT'S QUIIIZ TIIIME!

HAVE YOU DISCOVERED THE HIDDEN SKIP QUIZ? To test your general knowledge against the Skip super quiz, just scroll down on the confirmation screen after each order you place.

STEP 7—PICK UP & GET DOWN

Are you ready for the fun part? When you arrive at the venue, walk past the queue to where they serve up their take away coffees and your order will be waiting for you on the counter, perhaps even next to the Skip Pick Up sign. If you’re a little early, let them know you ordered on Skip and ask the barista an earnest open-ended question to start a conversation and build what may well become a firm friendship.
